Why Proper Fit Isn’t Optional: The PPE Gap Moms in Trades Face Every Day

Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the women who shape our lives — and for many of them, that celebration happens between shifts, on job sites, or after long days in the trades. But what’s often overlooked is that these hardworking women — including moms — are still navigating a world of workwear that wasn’t made for them.

The Problem: A Safety Gap

For decades, workwear and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) were designed with a one-size-fits-most approach — and “most” often meant men. As more women stepped into trades and industrial roles, the gap between what was available and what was needed only grew.

A study by CSA Group found that 40% of women modify or alter their PPE just to get through a workday safely.

This isn’t just about comfort — it’s about safety. Loose coveralls can snag on equipment. Gloves that are too large reduce grip and increase injury risk. Boots that don’t fit properly can lead to foot strain or slips. When your gear doesn’t protect you, it puts everything — your health, your career, and your family — at risk.

The Solution: Workwear That Works for Women

Our mission has always been to create safe, inclusive workwear for women — workwear that doesn’t require hacks or alterations, because it was designed for your body and your job. And now, with our Sustainable Collection, we’re pushing that mission even further by protecting both women and the planet.

Each garment in our sustainable line is made with 20–30 recycled plastic bottles, in partnership with Waste2Wear, a global leader in responsible recycling and traceable textile solutions.

Our designs are tailored, performance-tested, and job site ready. Whether you're navigating a job site, a warehouse floor, or managing tools and toddlers, you deserve PPE that supports you every step of the way.

Because Every Mom Deserves to Be Safe at Work

This Mother’s Day, we’re not just celebrating moms — we’re standing with them. With inclusive sizing, thoughtful design, and ethical materials, we’re building a safer future for women in trades — and their families.

Properly fitted PPE increases confidence, safety, and job performance — critical for mothers who are balancing demanding jobs with responsibilities at home.
