PRESS RELEASE | COVERGALLS & WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION HIT THE RUNWAY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SUDBURY, ON, March 3, 2022 |  1PM PST - Covergalls Inc. is pleased to announce its participation in the 2022 Women in Construction Week Fashion Show in Houston next week on March 10th. The event is the year's most anticipated fashion event for women in construction.

Hosted and organized by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Houston TX Chapter, the show include 15 models showcasing five different brands: Covergalls Inc., DoveTail Workwear, JunoJones, Seraphina Safety Apparel, and Xena Workwear. Each model participating in the event is an actual woman in construction, working for various vendors, general contractors, and subcontractors.

Noraliz Casanova, the Women in Construction Week Chair for the National Association of Women in Construction in Houston TX Chapter, says she hopes the event will help engage and reach women in construction who are struggling to find workwear for them.

“Sometimes we don't know what exists because it’s not in front of us. That's really how we came along with the fashion show. Our whole intention was, let's showcase all these brands, let's make sure we put them in front of everyone so they know what's available and what's not. You know how the word spreads out when you see someone wearing something on a job site and you ask, ‘where's that from? Does it feel comfortable?’ With the fashion show, we thought that that was a great idea to help showcase everything.”

Tickets sales for the event are being sold online through the NAWIC website and the event is halfway sold out. NAWIC will be celebrating the brands and models within the Women In Construction Fashion Week program and through their social media channels.

About The National Association of Women in Construction

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is an international not-for-profit corporation whose core purpose is to enhance the success of women in the construction industry. The NAWIC was originally founded in 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas by sixteen women working in the construction industry. Recognizing that women only represented a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network called ‘Women In Construction’ for women working in a male-dominated field. The organization proved so successful that it gained its national charter by 1955 and officially became the National Association of Women in Construction. Now, with more than 115 chapters across the country, the NAWIC offers its members education, support, and networking to help advance their careers in construction, build their technical skills, and become leaders.

About Covergalls Inc.

Covergalls Inc. is a Sudbury, Ontario-based company specialized in creating personal protective equipment for women. Inspired by her female mining experience, creator and founder Alicia Woods caught herself wondering why, with so many women joining unconventional careers, did they wear garments designed for a male's body type? The reason was simple – they didn’t have a choice. There were no coveralls for women available on the market. This is where the idea for Covergalls Workwear was born. With unique features like a rear trap door for easier bathroom breaks and tailored fit for improved safety, there finally is a garment designed by women and for women working in the industrial sector. Covergalls is the next step for industries, taking workplace diversity to workplace inclusion.
